"Fr. Mike challenges the reader to look more deeply into the people, events and natural phenomena encountered in our daily lives."-Marlene BrunetSince I wrote my final poem "Moi," I have graduated to a walker, and I love it! Perhaps this is how to try to grow older-accept what happens with new surrender and joy.I continue to enjoy my balcony on 9 Grosvenor Street. I even noticed seventeen robins on my maple tree in mid-February this year. Amazing!I also am a spiritual director again at St. Peter's Seminary, adding to my all-time record on the Seminary faculty. God has blessed me with minimal health issues. I still have all my marbles, but there is a hole in the bag sometimes.I hope you enjoy these twenty poems. I am convinced poetry helps us to see the bigger picture in life, and to see God's hand in it, no matter what. Useful as it is, there is so much more in life than even AI can provide.Silence has helped me to have peace. My current best line is, "Be still and know that I am God" (Ps. 46:19). Poems can be God's "still-point" to speak to us.Try it!-Fr. Mike PrieurMarch 2, 2026
