We all have habits that we wish we could change. Parts of our personality that don't quite pass the smell test. This can make us insecure, nervous, and scared about what might happen when others see those stinky habits on display. However, we must overcome our fears, and face these challenges head-on. And once we do, we might also learn that others face similar challenges, just like us. "Nelly the Skunk's Nervous Habit" offers the reader a way to face these challenges as they read how Nelly, a young skunk who lets out a cloud of stinky gas when she gets nervous and is usually made fun of by the other kids at school, vows to never let this happen again. By purposefully placing herself in scary situations, she learns to conquer her fears, overcome her nervous habit, and now understands how to help another kid who struggles with the same socially awkward habit.
