The research provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary study of consciousness and the unconscious in animals and humans within neurophysiological, cognitive, philosophical, and evolutionary frameworks. It explores the evolutionary foundations of consciousness, neural correlates of awareness, and cognitive and emotional manifestations of mental activity. Special attention is given to the comparison between animal and human forms of consciousness, as well as to the analysis of the unconscious - from Freud's psychoanalytic concept to modern network and cognitive models. The study proposes an integrative network semantic-topological model of consciousness, combining psychoanalytic, cognitive, and neurophysiological approaches, and demonstrates a shift from classical dualistic concepts to a systemic, network, and evolutionary understanding of the psyche.
