Thespo Andreou was born in Cyprus and moved to London in the early 1960s. This book describes her journey from the ancient traditions of 1950s Cyprus to the fast changing social, cultural and technological landscape of modern Britain. Living at first in the East End of London and then in the towns of Bristol, Brighton, Nottingham, and many others, she experienced the turbulence of the times. From the swinging 60s to recessions, Brexit, COVID and ageing, this book is both a deeply personal story and a chronicle of global transformation. Numbers, anecdotes and historical snapshots illuminate a life lived across 15 homes, two cultures and seven decades of change. It is a reflection on identity, resilience, and the relentless march of history.
