Non-financial problems faced by older people and possible solutions: A bachelor's thesis commissioned the Krobatschek Private Foundation

This study was commissioned by the Krobatschek Private Foundation. The aim of this work is to present a multifaceted perspective on the problems faced by older people that are not directly related to financial issues or illness. Furthermore, building on this, the study seeks to identify and present potential solutions to these problems. The information was drawn from two interviews I conducted, documentation from the Krobatschek Private Foundation, statistics from the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection, and relevant specialist literature. The results show that the problems can be categorised into the areas of housing, social contacts, the burden of illness, death, shame and past stressful situations. There is a fairly well-developed support system in place for these issues, to which the Krobatschek Private Foundation can effectively refer people in its work.
