Although it provides comprehensive coverage of the major common disease entities and their variants, it also includes many rare, but no less important, conditions. Wherever possible, the authors have tried to remain consistent with the widely-recognised International Nomenclature of Disease, a joint project of the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences and the World Health Organization. Although this Atlas provides comprehensive coverage of the major common disease entities and their variants, it also includes many rare, but no less important, conditions. The extensive collection of images is the focal point, balanced by an informative text and selective use of illustrative tables.
