Of Surrogates and Dreamers

The Progenitors have established a new order of humankind on Mars.The inhabitants of the Martian colony of Aeneid spend their long and kept lives engaged in miraculous technology; the DREAM machine. With the DREAMER's consciousness digitized, and the signal cast through space and time, they occupy the minds of compatible humans throughout any point in our history. These surrogates are vessels to the DREAMER; a means of once more getting to see sights worth seeing, hear sounds worth hearing, and feel long-forgotten sensations. However, sometimes a DREAM can turn into a nightmare. What happens when you lose sight of what it is that makes you your own person? To what depths will you plummet when you no longer feel or act like a human being? When everything is gone, what will you cling to? Of Surrogates and Dreamers is an exploration of those dreams and nightmares, a peer into what can happen when we become adrift and complacent; that moment when we realize we can no longer recognize ourselves in the mirror.
