Off The Marked Trail

Jaydon Okafor has a plan for everything. He has never needed anyone else's help, and he is not about to start now, even after a sudden mountain storm washes out the trail markers and separates his small hiking group from the rest of the class. With the map ruined, the radio dead, and no adult in sight, Jaydon is left leading two classmates through unfamiliar wilderness: Riley, who wants to move fast and figure it out alone, and Bex, who keeps noticing things nobody else seems to catch. Every choice matters. Trust the wrong instinct, and the group loses precious daylight. Push too hard, and someone gets hurt. Listen carefully enough, and an old piece of advice Jaydon once dismissed as useless might be exactly what gets everyone home. This fully interactive gamebook puts you in charge of the story. Every decision sends you to a different page, and every path leads to one of 25 possible endings, from quietly triumphant to hilariously disastrous. Reread it again and again, and you will discover a new outcome nearly every time.Perfect for readers ages 10 to 14 who love survival stories, branching adventures, and stories about learning when to lead and when to trust the people beside you.
