ONLY THE OUTLIERS GRIPE

Only The Outliers Gripe - How WiSolar Became an On-Demand Solar Utility in Africa tells the inside story of how WiSolar emerged as Africa's pioneering digital solar utility, transforming the continent's energy challenge into an opportunity for innovation. Written from the founder's perspective, the book traces WiSolar's journey from its early beginnings to the creation of a solar-as-a-service model powered by the WiGo platform, which allows users to purchase prepaid solar electricity, track usage, and manage power as easily as mobile data. It explores how technology, product development, and bold thinking enabled WiSolar to move beyond selling solar hardware to delivering accessible, reliable, and user-controlled clean energy across Nigeria and South Africa. The book presents a compelling vision for Africa's energy future, decentralized, digital, and sustainable, and calls on investors, policymakers, innovators, and citizens to collaborate in building a continent where clean power is not a privilege, but a shared reality.
