ORC 714: Book One

In Goma, even an act of mercy can make you an enemy.ORC 714 is a small team drawn to the places where fear holds people captive. They seek out where God is already working and come alongside His people, trusting that prayer can invite miracles and awaken the courage to act. Their work carries them into dangerous rescues and uncertain alliances, where their willingness to help can make enemies of men accustomed to being obeyed. In Goma, warlords hijack humanitarian aid while public officials promise order and protection. Eighteen-year-old Eli is invited to join their team just as circumstances begin to expose the connections between armed factions, political authority, and compromised spiritual leaders. When intimidation gives way to blocked roads, withheld medicine, and dwindling food and water, the team must help keep a community alive while the authorities it should be able to trust turn against it.Behind the city's corruption, they begin to uncover a power far more sinister and formidable than the warlords they thought they were facing. As a local pastor and his community find the courage to stand, their growing faith draws the attention of an enemy determined to keep Goma afraid. Eli and his companions must learn to trust that God is already at work in the danger closing around them - and that even here, His power is greater.
