For twelve years, our family lived in a restaurant.Orofino's opened on New Year's Eve 1975 in the Malibu Canyon of Calabasas, California. One year later, it was listed in California's Top Ten Restaurants. Over a span of 12 years, from its humble beginning in a renovated truck stop, Orofino's became an iconic dining spot for locals and entertainment and sports celebrities. Our name was on the door - and what remains isn't a menu or a dining room; it's the values shaped there, like work ethic, pride, resilience, and love.Over the years, the tables at Orofino's were filled with actors, touring musicians, television personalities and professional athletes in addition to locals and regulars. They came for the food. They returned for the welcome.Orofino's was never just a restaurant. It was a place where traditions were honored, lessons were learned, and stories were passed down - over a simmering sauce, or a glass of wine at the end of a crazy, busy night. And somewhere between the kitchen and the dining room, relationships formed that went far beyond autographs and photos... because genuine hospitality has no VIP section. Behind the meals that everyone remembers were the sacrifices no one talks about: financial fear, strained marriages, missed moments, and the constant weight of keeping a family business alive. From Sunday sauce to favorite desserts, each dish was cooked with heart, instinct, and generosity. Pour a glass of wine, gather your people, and cook something that matters! This isn't just a story. It's a seat at our table."After the last dish was served, the story was just beginning..."
