A year after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Rain, a stripper at The Pink Pussycat, a dive bar on Bourbon Street, drags her tired body home through the sweltering streets of New Orleans. Burdened by a mountain of debt left by her deadbeat husband, Rain wonders how she'll survive. But her life as a down-and-out stripper changes in ways she never could have imagined when she dances for Hal, a dejected veteran paralyzed during the Iraq War. When Hal makes some outrageous claims about her lap dances, word of Rain's "gift" starts to spread quickly. Soon she finds herself locked in a battle with jealous dancers, an ambitious local televangelist and her own disbelief. But Rain's life isn't the only one to be turned upside down. Hal's wife Marilyn, a devout member of the Faith & Love Ministry, is torn between her love for her husband and her faith when confronted with the unbelievable.
