Outdoor Education: Opportunities and limitations in the therapeutic process for neglected young people

This book seeks to highlight both the possibilities and the limitations of outdoor education within a therapeutic process for neglected young people. On the one hand, it aims to describe the young person's personality and the conditions for normal or impaired development. The aim is to foster a fundamental understanding of goal-oriented intervention, education and psychotherapy. On the other hand, however, it also aims to highlight the skills that must be awakened or developed in the young person through the use of resources, enabling them to achieve personal fulfilment and professional success. Outdoor education, integrated into the psychotherapeutic process, can contribute to addressing developmental deficits and fostering personality development through the unique impact of experiences, nature and the potential of the group, supported by reflection. Drawing on projects already carried out, this paper aims to highlight those areas where lasting change can occur, as well as where there are limits to its effectiveness.
