River Wolfe came prepared for a beginner backpacking trip. Sort of. He brought clothes, snacks, confidence, and absolutely none of the gear Lennon Hunter thinks a person should have before entering the wilderness on purpose. Lennon has maps, emergency supplies, backup plans, and very strong opinions about River's sneakers. Unfortunately, due to one very enthusiastic organizer and one deeply concerning paperwork mix-up, River and Lennon are mistaken for assistant trip leaders before either of them can escape. Now they're responsible for guiding a group of beginner hikers through trails, weather, blisters, campfires, questionable shortcuts, and increasingly obvious romantic tension. River thinks confidence can fix almost anything. Lennon thinks preparation can prevent almost anything. The mountain disagrees with both of them. As the trail gets steeper and the feelings get harder to ignore, River and Lennon discover that surviving the outdoors may be easier than surviving each other. Packs, Peaks & Poor Decisions is a low-heat MM romantic comedy featuring forced proximity, beginner backpacking chaos, opposites attract, emotional support snacks, one extremely suspicious chipmunk, and two men who are absolutely not qualified to lead anyone anywhere.
