Bol This study aimed to verify the possibility of integrating religiosity and spirituality into psychological care for patients in palliative care. To carry out this study, a literature review was conducted using scientific articles collected from Scielo, Bireme, CAPES, and Google Scholar. Theses and dissertations from various Brazilian universities and books were also examined. The results of the research indicate that psychologists are called upon to address these dimensions when caring for these patients, but also reveal how unprepared psychology professionals are to deal with these issues. These difficulties are due to a lack of uniformity in the concepts of religiosity and spirituality, a lack of interest on the part of universities in addressing these issues in the training of psychologists, and a lack of an approach that provides theoretical support for their personal religious beliefs and the ethical issues that permeate the therapeutic relationship. As a result, in most cases, psychologists, lacking the technical and personal skills to handle these dimensions, reject and deny them. This work is recommended for all professionals who care for patients in palliative care.
