At a time when the fire kindled by the destroyer rages across the world, state-of-the-art weapons are flooding the earth, and conflicts of interest are undermining peace and peaceful cohesion throughout the world, whilst the immeasurable poverty of the people is turning death into a luxury for the defenceless peasants of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is important to pause and ask ourselves: 'Is peace without war possible on earth?'. After several decades of repeated wars and agreements between the Congolese and neighbouring countries, which have yielded no lasting benefits, a system has taken root in the Great Lakes region that benefits only the belligerents and key players, without regard for the population, who pay the price with their blood and dignity. This book provides a practical answer to the question posed in the title: it is possible to restore lasting peace without war or the shedding of innocent blood, both globally and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
