Bol Understanding perceptions of time and space, and identifying farmers' strategies for coping with climate-related challenges, are essential forms of knowledge. A survey conducted in Gouré among a sample of 60 people revealed that the effects of climate change are clearly perceived by local communities. Farmers directly perceive the effects of climate change through the aridity of the climate and the unpredictability of rainfall. Herders, artisans, and hunters perceive these effects indirectly through the scarcity of resources. These effects have prompted local communities to adopt adaptation strategies such as crop variety selection, the use of water and soil conservation techniques, the use of organic fertilizer, adjusting planting dates, storing fodder, selling livestock during periods of drought, and collective prayers for rain. Nevertheless, these strategies remain insufficient due to the persistent negative effects of climate change in eastern Niger.
