Percy Pelican and the Great Storm

Percy soars above Pelican Bay, proudly known as "Percy the Protector" since saving the flock from an alligator. As young pelicans practice their dives, Percy encourages them-especially a small, nervous pelican named Pip, who worries he might fail.But Percy soon spots something troubling far out over the water. Dark clouds gather, the wind begins to blow harder, and thunder rumbles in the distance. Looking through his glasses, Percy realizes the danger is far greater than the others believe-the tide is rushing in, and their nests will soon be underwater.While some of the older pelicans dismiss his warning, Percy acts quickly. Urging the flock to follow him, he leads them away from the shoreline and up to the safety of tall rocky cliffs.
