Bol The present study reports an eco-friendly and cost-effective approach for the green synthesis of biocompatible silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using aqueous root extract of Zingiber officinale (ginger). Phytochemicals present in the extract acted as both reducing and stabilizing agents, eliminating the need for hazardous chemicals. The formation of AgNPs was initially confirmed by a visible color change and further validated through spectroscopic techniques, including UV-Visible spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) analysis, and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). Morphological characteristics and particle size distribution were determined using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and/or Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), revealing predominantly spherical nanoparticles with nanoscale dimensions. The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized AgNPs was evaluated against selected Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains, demonstrating significant inhibitory effects compared to the crude extract, indicating enhanced bioactivity at the nanoscale.
