Pilgrimage to the Pit: A Poetic Travel Diary

While journeying through Germany and Poland on a two-week travel course through infamous locales, Lindsay Gordon documented her observations, thoughts, and emotions in a daily poetry journal. While she rode trains, sat in cafes, and walked historic pathways, she explored the themes of nationalism and remembrance, both individually and with her cohort. Lindsay Gordon invites readers to trek alongside her on this pilgrimage and wrestle with the past, present, and future together. What lessons can we learn from these places of darkness? How do we confront the past while looking toward the future with hope? If we willingly accept the trial, can we emerge back into the light finding ourselves wiser, kinder, and more equipped to confront injustice? Pilgrimage to the Pit is a summons to join Gordon through each day of reflection, pain, and growth, and see how the journey might transform you, too.
