WHO considers traditional medicine to be a crucial, important and often underestimated element of healthcare. It contributes to the goal of universal access to healthcare.Medicinal plants form the backbone of traditional systems.This book reports on the traditional use of plants in 23 Arab countries, based on information gathered during field surveys carried out by the authors. Indications are compared with those of plants used in traditional medicine in Tunisia. They are also compared with those found in ancient texts.
