This research study, titled "Play-Based Strategies for Teaching Geometry to Sixth-Grade Students at La Libertad Elementary School," aims to design play-based activities that promote the learning of geometry concepts among these students. The students' specific skills and difficulties in this area of mathematics were identified, and playful activities and materials were developed to promote their interest, participation, and learning of geometry. The research was conducted at the school with students from families in the district, using a mixed-methods approach that combined quantitative and qualitative data. The results revealed that students have significant difficulties distinguishing between area and perimeter, as well as in solving related problems. Additionally, they make errors when correctly applying formulas to shapes such as squares, rectangles, and triangles. It was concluded that the implementation of playful strategies in the teaching process substantially improves these skills, positively impacting their academic performance.
