Po and Kaew's Homestay Construction: a photo journal of modern ranch house construction in Chaiyaphum, Thailand

This book is a photo journal of a modern ranch house construction in Chaiyaphum, Thailand. The book is presented in three sections, first section is Sketchup drawings which use step-by-step illustrative drawings to conceptualize the building processes. Second section is photos captured during the 10 months construction process. Third section is photos of finished interior and exterior appearances. In Thailand, local contractors or builders tend to engage their trade with traditional local knowledge and experiences. Some builders are very professional, while some practice their trade with on-the-job maneuvers. It is important to secure a seasoned builder and an engineering firm with open communication skills to do the work. From post and beam, roof and frame, water and sewer, light and switch, concrete floor, wall and fixture, provincial electrical authority, floor tiles, skirt edge baseboards, to landscape and operation. The entire project cost around 1,400,000 Thai Bahts. Although the house is 138 SM in size, it provides a roomy, countryside atmosphere while enjoying a farm-like environment.
