Pobal

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Pobal is a bilingual English-Irish current affairs programme broadcast each Sunday evening at 17:30 on RTÉ One. It acts as the bilingual sister to Nationwide. It has been presented by Síle Seoige, now one half of Seoige. Each show is filmed from a different location in rural Ireland and it is now presented by Caroline Ní Dhubhchóin ever since Seoige moved to Seoige. The programme has a Polish reporter, titled Margaret Brandys. The title of the series comes from the Irish language word for "community", which is what the programme is all about. In 2009, due to RTÉ cutbacks, the programme was axed. RTÉ One (Irish: RTÉ a hAon) is the Republic of Ireland's oldest and most popular television channel, operated by the state public service broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann. It broadcasts 24 hours a day. Its headquarters is at Donnybrook, Dublin.
