Poverty and free development of personality

This paper analyzes poverty from a multidimensional and humanistic approach, arguing that its deepest dimension does not lie in material deprivation, but in the structural denial of the right to free development of the personality. Based on authors such as Amartya Sen, Murray Rothbard and Leonardo Polo, it is argued that overcoming poverty requires recognizing each person as an active subject, capable of exercising his or her autonomy, deploying his or her talents and building a meaningful life project. Analysis of the Mexican legal framework, the crisis of contemporary social orders and the phenomenon of internal and international migration in Latin America as an expression of the right to human mobility. Concluding that overcoming poverty requires reordering the legal, economic and political systems around human dignity, guaranteeing real freedoms and material conditions that allow each person to flourish fully.
