Preventing Malaria in Senegal

How do stakeholders and beneficiaries position themselves in the context of implementing a public health policy? How do the underlying rationales contribute to building a culture of using Long-Lasting Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Nets (LLINs) in the specific context of the widespread adoption of targeting sleeping areas with mosquito nets? To consolidate the progress made in the fight against malaria, the malaria control program in Senegal is implementing a policy to cover the country's sleeping areas with LLINs. This book examines the relationship between social groups (stakeholders and beneficiaries) and this preventive tool, taking into account the context of this new policy's implementation. The fight against malaria has been guided by various directives over time, hence the inclusion of the concept of change in our analysis. Past directives have been internalized by individuals, and this situation generates experiential capital that is mobilized in the development of MILDA practices.
