Primal Stone: A Novel

Monoliths-colossal stone structures that produce the wondrous energy known as orenda-dominate the land. Humans build cities around them, and by living near these great pillars, they can be born with special Blessings. Creating fire, manipulating light, giving oneself super strength-these are all things made possible thanks to the Monoliths, both for humans, and for the mighty magisaurs that inhabit the land. Enter Avral of Ertah, a seventeen-year-old who does odd jobs here and there to get by after abruptly quitting the elite Inner Guard. Unsure of what his future holds, he gets the chance to go on the adventure of a lifetime when he accepts a deal to escort a mysterious package to Holluk, the Monolithic city deep within the western jungle. With spear in hand and a pair of young merchant siblings alongside him, Avral quickly realizes that with this job, he might have bitten off a bit more than he can chew. And that he had no shortage of foes that wanted to take a bite out of him.
