Principles of Biblical Interpretation / Hermeneutics

Principles of Biblical Interpretation / Hermeneutics introduces students to the proper interpretation, understanding, and application of Scripture.This course teaches students how to approach the Bible with reverence, discipline, context, humility, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. Students will learn the meaning of hermeneutics, the importance of rightly dividing the Word of truth, the dangers of misinterpretation, and the principles necessary for faithful biblical study.Special emphasis is placed on interpreting Scripture through the person of Jesus Christ, the finished work of Christ, the New Covenant, the authority of Scripture, and the full counsel of God's Word.The goal of this course is to help students become faithful readers, teachers, ministers, and students of the Bible who handle the Word of God with accuracy, humility, and spiritual maturity.
