Priorities and partners: Expanding International Economic Opportunities for Belarus: Domestic External Contours

One of the seven state priorities of the Republic of Belarus, the fifth one, which was laid down not only in the previous years but also for the next five years - until 2030, concerns strong regions. The main instrument of our country's regional development is the implementation of investment projects, which, with the help of new production facilities, strengthen the regional framework of sustainable development of the Belarusian state. We would like to remind you that in the previous five-year period in Belarus a special emphasis was placed on the initiative "One District - One Project". During this period, more than a hundred projects were implemented and almost five thousand new jobs were created. A new program for Belarusian regions - "Regional Initiative", which is characterized by a simplified procedure of decision-making administration, will be launched in 2026. The financing instrument is the credit product "Investment Development", which includes new financial instruments - "Strong Regions", "Tourism Potential", "Technological Self-Sufficiency". How do these initiatives affect the regions of Belarus? What problems do they have to face when implementing specific projects? The answers to these questions can be found in this study.
