Throughout history, people have dreamed of changing the world and vet in their cagerness have forgotten that All Gods are aspeets of the One God and All Goddesses arc aspects of the One Goddess, and as in a unity they are one. In the beginning, each life has a separate reason or intention for its existence, but at the same time it \s antertwined with all others. Though at first we learn how to expand our everyday consciousness, understanding and becoming aware of our innate abilities and talents, slowly we become aware of the dual omnipotent powers that control our environment. We can now begin to understand that our world is in a continuous state of becoming, a constantly evolving process of which humans, animals, plants, rocks, in fact, each separate entity is a part and that each part is a world in itself. From this moment forward we begin the journey where conscious and unconscious can be united and where awareness can embrace and include both. No culture is more aware of the duality of the universe than the Native American tradition. Its teachings echo the inner dreams that guide us along the path which leads us back to that Source. As the mystical tradition of the Qabbalah and Tarot reveal, there are connections between the ancient teachings of the East and West, shamanic wisdom and the hereditary teachings of the Native Americans. Ît is for us to discover and come to acknowledge the common roots of these ageold teachings that have been protected by their respective oral traditions. We all have a dream — for many it is world peace, for others it lies in the freedom to follow their own path to its source. Only in the ages to come will we finally realize our destiny, which springs from a common source and to which one day we must all return. We have adapted the ancient wisdom of the Tarot to the context of the Native American tradition, using it within the framework of the Tree of Life as a journey of discovery. It offers us a wonderful opportunity to discover through our own personal experiences our self-developing energies. It is not easy to instigate a radical change of consciousness. Just at the moment we are ready to leap forward, apprehension can creep in. We may feel sudden panic at the prospect of giving up the security of all that is familiar, or of relinquishing old habits, or of letting go of outworn relationships. We also face the added difficulty of releasing the self-image we have so carefully and painstakingly built over many years. To enable us to be centred and balanced during this transition we have the guided imagery of the Tarot and the imaginative use of the Triad System based on the Tree of Life. Step by step, through the discovery of all that the Quester Cards have to offer, you will inwardly recognize the images as they are projected and expand your awareness. You will eventually reach a stage where you will no longer rely on anyone else to mediate between your inner spirituality and that which we commonly identify as God. You will become an individual, and because you will be able to express yourself as an individual soul you will attract other souls who are searching for the same qualities in life. This journey through the Tarot will lead you far from all that is familiar and safe into a strange land where love and beauty, pain and fear will surround you. You must realize that, up until now, circum= stances have formed your hife and, if given the chance, will continue to form your tomorrow. Personal expertences help you to gain wisdom from the knowledge gained from the situations and circumstances that life provides for us. If our experience of a particular event is a happy one, we will remember it with affection. If it transpires to be a sad occasion we will recall it with sadness. Whichever is the case, both are reactions of wisdom, even if it is only the wisdom of not repeating the same mistake, In other words, we cannot fail.
