RADIOLOGICAL SAFETY OF DRINKING WATER: EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT

Providing the world's population with safe and clean water is one of the most important elements of life support and a primary factor in human health. The level of sanitary and epidemiological well-being and social stability depend on water quality. Almost 20% of the world's population lives in areas with water shortages. It is known that 25% of the world's population lives in countries with poorly developed or non-existent infrastructure for collecting water from water supply sources and treating it. These factors, in addition to creating water-related problems for the world's population, can be the cause of various diseases, including cancer. Improved water supply, sanitation, and hygiene systems, as well as more efficient water use, contribute to the economic growth of states and, accordingly, to an improvement in the standard of living.
