Ragnar Klavan

Ragnar Klavan (born October 30, 1985 in Viljandi) is an Estonian professional footballer, who plays in the Dutch Eredivisie, for AZ Alkmaar. He plays the position of defender or midfielder and is 1.86 m tall. He is also a member of the Estonia national football team. His father Dzintar also was an international footballer. Klavan made his first-team debut for FC Elva at the age of 15 in 2001. A year later he joined to JK Viljandi Tulevik. After two seasons he moved to FC Flora Tallinn in 2003. On August 31, 2004, Klavan signed for Vålerenga IF on a three-month loan from Flora Tallinn.Three months later Flora Tallinn extended his loan with Vålerenga IF until November 30, 2005. He stayed for only two league games.
