Bol The aim of the study was to analyze the reading practice of university students. A quantitative, descriptive-explanatory approach was adopted, with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 285 students of the Primary Education program of the Canas branch of the Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco. The sample was selected through a non-probabilistic and intentional sampling, made up of 65 students enrolled in the first and second semester of 2024-II, male and female, between the ages of 17 and 19, who responded to a survey on components of reading practice. Among the most significant findings were that 36.9% of the students read three hours a week, 51.8% of the students read academic texts, and 33.8% of the students practice reading. It is concluded that a significant proportion of students are dedicated to reading, especially academic texts, with a moderate weekly reading time and a third actively involved in the practice. A reflection is made to improve reading and its practice in university students.
