Reading the Red - Mark

For generations, believers were encouraged to "read the red". Just to sit with the very words of Jesus printed across the pages of their Bibles. Not because His sayings were more important than the rest of Scripture, but because seeing His voice awakens a deeper awareness. The Word Himself is speaking. In this devotional commentary, the author returns to that simple invitation. By walking through the Gospels and focusing solely on the words of Christ- sometimes a single phrase, or an entire parable- he discovered a sweeping continuity in Jesus' mission that had gone unnoticed before. Morning after morning, the red letters revealed a panoramic view of the Savior's heart, His purpose, and His unbroken conversation with His people.Drawing from the distinct voices of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, each shaped by different audiences, backgrounds, and Spirit-guided perspectives, this devotional helps readers encounter the life of Jesus through four complementary lenses. Rather than forcing the Gospels into harmony, it honors the richness of their differences and the unique truths each writer emphasizes.Whether you read one devotion a day or linger longer in each passage, Reading the Red invites you to slow down, listen closely, and let the words of Christ speak freshly into your life.
