RECENT ADVANCEMENTS IN DIAGNOSIS OF PULPAL DISEASES

Recent advancements in the diagnosis of pulpal diseases aim to improve the accuracy and reliability of identifying pulp vitality. Conventional tests such as thermal and electric pulp tests assess the sensory response of the pulp, which may not always reflect the true vitality of the tissue. Modern diagnostic methods focus on evaluating pulpal blood flow, providing a more objective assessment. In addition, advanced imaging techniques like cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) help in better visualization of pulpal and periapical conditions. Emerging research on biomarkers and molecular diagnostics also shows promise in detecting pulpal inflammation at an early stage. These advancements contribute to more precise diagnosis and improved treatment planning in endodontics.
