Will we, the people, follow fanatics to our ruin, or finally reclaim our Preamble authority to redesign our democracy and Constitution? Structural weaknesses in our first version of democracy are now painfully apparent. Our most serious issue is that our old systems intentionally still make every decision slow and difficult in this faster new world. Like an early aircraft design, it was a good start, but it was just a first attempt. Continuous planning, improvement and maintenance are necessary. Self-government takes teamwork. Democracy is about a union of the people , not about money, power, scheming "politics" or partisanship. We have new tools and systems available now to make collective decisions together swiftly and efficiently, and make government actually work for us. It is time to build a sleek, new generation of democracy and peacefully set a new course for our nation.
