RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LABOUR PRACTICES AND FIRM PRODUCTIVITY: MANAGEMENT

This book explores the labour as a practice essential as a factor of production in any firm that produces goods for export in the world. To that effect the book expores productivity growth as a a central factor of economic growth. A transfer of labour and other resources to higher-productivity activities may hence have a substantial effect on economic growth, even if productivity levels within the different sectors do not increase. Developing countries like Kenya often have abundant and cheap unskilled labour and for this reason have a relative competitive advantage over developed countries in labor-intensive production, such as primary production and low-skilled manufacturing job. Therefore, many see SSA as the key to economic growth in industrialization, and in an increase of higher-productivity activities. EPZ' is the most commonly used term among a variety of names and forms of a popular trade policy instrument that has been used in the last few decades. Other names used include: SEZs', such as those found in China.
