Bol Ecofeminism offers an environmental critique within feminism and a feminist critique within environmentalism. It highlights the prominent role of women in the various environmental movements as well as their advocacy for sustainable practices and conservation efforts. This research aims to provide qualitative and critical interpretation of the novels of Sarah Joseph and Zora Neale Hurston. It examines feminism and ecology, spirituality, the quest for identity, and the challenge of capitalist patriarchy. The research seeks to incorporate ecofeminist perspectives in literary analysis and suggests that women play a significant role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem through the journey led by female protagonists in the selected novels Their Eyes Were Watching God and Othappu; The Scent of the Other Side by Zora Neale Hurston and Sarah Joseph respectively. Thereafter, this work will explore the intersectionality of ecofeminism and other variables in the sample novels, namely gender, race, the caste system, and religion. It will analyze how the female protagonists navigate societal expectations and resist patriarchal exploitation for the sake of self-empowerment and internal peace.
