Reste ici: A French Mood Journal

Some books ask you to finish them. This one asks you to stay, and to feel.Inside are more than a hundred French words, French and English, each language a door to the other, arranged not by lesson or by season, but by feeling: stillness, sadness, fear, restlessness, curiosity, anger, anticipation, joy, belonging. Open the book where you already are.It rests on a simple idea: there are no bad feelings. Every mood is a signal. Sadness asking you to slow down, fear pointing at what you love, anger naming a line that was crossed. Nothing here needs fixing. It only asks to be met. Each word sits across two pages. On the left, the word and its world: its true root, traced to a dated source, and a real line of poetry. On the right, a page that belongs to you, a question to feel your way into, answer, or leave open. At the foot of every page, a quiet refrain: Reste ici, stay here, or, where a mood reaches out, Suis le fil, follow the thread. And underneath each word, a small creature carries a five-chord progression, waiting to be played. Word by word, you build an ear, a little French, a little attention, a little music. An anchor, for anyone who wants one.Curated by BB Felis.
