This is a comparative reading of two works that are so far apart in space and time( Seneca'sMédée and Mariama Ba's Un chant écarlate ).Two women, mothers, faithful companions, loving and devoted to their spouses, find themselves betrayed by their beloved. Medea even goes so far as to kill for her lover Jason, who nevertheless prefers her to another.
