Rick Twerpin: 'The Highwayman Who Gets It All Wrong'

Rick Twerpin wants to be the most feared highwayman in Nettleshire. There's just one problem... he's absolutely terrible at it. Inspired by the legendary Dick Turpin, Rick dreams of masks, capes, daring robberies, and galloping through the night. Unfortunately for Rick, his trusty pony Old Jess would rather eat grass or take a nap than charge into adventure, and Rick's attempts at being terrifying usually end in confusion, panic, and accidental heroics. When Rick sets out to make his mark on the roads of Nettleshire, he doesn't become a villain at all. Instead, he blunders straight into trouble and somehow stops the real robbers in their tracks. Hook Nose Ned, One Eyed Jack, and Two Guns all learn the hard way that Rick Twerpin may not know what he's doing, but his mistakes have a habit of saving the day. As the villagers cheer for their mysterious masked protector, Rick becomes more and more bewildered. How can he be a hero when he was trying so hard to be a highwayman? Packed with slapstick humour, silly villains, an unforgettable sleepy pony, and a heart-warming message about being yourself, Rick Twerpin: The Highwayman Who Gets It All Wrong is a fun-filled adventure for young readers who love laugh-out-loud characters and mischievous twists. Perfect for children who enjoy comic adventures, unlikely heroes, and stories where getting it all wrong might just be the best way to get it right.
