Ring of Tara: Blood and Broken Oaths

His father is murdered. His kingdom is stolen and the man who did it is his own blood. From a frozen hillside, twenty-three-year-old Matudán watches his uncle murder the King of Ulaid and seize his throne. By sunrise, Matudán is hunted, carrying only his father's ring and an oath: I will take back what is ours. But Ireland's kings will not simply hand him a kingdom. Matudán must prove through judgement and deed that he is more than the angry son of a murdered king. Then Ivar the Boneless turns his longships north. With too few ships to meet him, Matudán makes a dangerous bargain with Eira Ketilsdóttir, a Norse exile with her own blood-debt against Ivar. She brings ships, warriors and the knowledge to make Ivar bleed. She also brings Norse axes inside Ulaid. As black sails gather off the coast and his enemies twist every choice against him, Matudán must decide what he is willing to sacrifice to reclaim his father's kingdom.Winning a battle may prove easier than winning a kingdom.Matudán wants Ulaid back. The harder question is whether he can take it without becoming the man who stole it.
