RISE First Grade Resilience Curriculum is a full-year social-emotional learning and resilience program designed specifically for first-grade students. With 36 week-long practices and 180 daily activities, the curriculum helps children build practical skills for understanding feelings, adjusting to school, making friends, communicating effectively, managing anger and conflict, solving problems, asking for help, and developing confidence and responsibility.Each weekly practice follows a simple five-day instructional rhythm: Teach, Model, Guided Practice, Apply, and Assess & Reflect. Activities are designed for short, consistent 10-15 minute learning periods and include drawing, speaking, movement, role-play, partner activities, reflection, and supported writing. Students can respond in developmentally appropriate ways-including speaking, drawing, acting, pointing, dictating, writing, or working with a partner.Throughout the school year, students explore important first-grade topics including self-awareness, emotions, friendship, inclusion, listening, cooperation, safety, conflict management, resilience, problem-solving, goal-setting, responsibility, and helping others.
