Bol As part of our final-year project, we conducted a study on the risks associated with the management of hospital waste between October 2012 and May 2013, focusing on the hospital and the surrounding communities. The aim was to contribute to the physical, mental and social well-being of people living and working in Yaoundé by improving living conditions and health services, whilst raising awareness of the work of the Ministry of Health. The overall objective of this study was to assess the health and environmental risks associated with waste management practices at the hospital. Our descriptive study, which employed a random sampling technique, utilised a questionnaire addressed to healthcare managers and the local population, as well as an observation grid to record findings. From a sample of one hundred (100) respondents, the data collected through interviews and analysed provided the results.
