Risks of iodine containing contrast agents in X ray diagnostics: An EFQM based analysis

The use of iodine-containing X-ray contrast media can give rise to a wide range of problems. Knowledge of optimal patient preparation can significantly minimise the risk of side effects and at the same time greatly increase patient safety. Relevant guidelines in the ESUR Society guidelines (ESUR Guidelines) and in the national X-ray societies support radiologists in their everyday clinical work. If these regulations are not taken seriously enough, this can lead to significant complications and relevant health risks for the patients concerned. This book addresses the four main problem areas in this field and shows how a structured approach can ensure successful patient preparation in everyday clinical practice in the interests of optimal safety management.
