Roadrunner Trials

Once the trial is finished, everything can go back to normal. At least, that's what Cassidy tells herself as continual messages arrive from Riddoc, demanding her silence. Although months have passed-well, a year-it still feels as if all her fears are hovering over her, pressing down on her shoulders. Every sound that appears to be out of place causes a bucket of ice water to wash over her. And perhaps that's how Cassidy foresees the rest of her life, with the formidable shadow of Riddoc darkening every thought. The trial, she tells herself, is the final step in getting away from all that has plagued her since the summer before. That's the closure she will get. But after her part in the trial is finished, her world flips, and she once again is looking to escape the reality she's been forced into. Surrounded by men who will do anything to protect Riddoc and stay on his good side, Cassidy must once again do everything she can to secure her escape. She can only hope that her resolve will be stronger. Her bravery must be impenetrable. And her trust must be bestowed upon the right men. One misstep, and she fears she will never see her family again.
