Burroughs and Edward Lachman - numerous artists who shaped the second half of the 20th century sought collaboration with the style-defining artist.Robert Frank, now 92, talks about his art and the stages of his life. Frank made photographic history with his photo book The Americans, first published in Paris in 1958, which appeared in the United States a year later with a text by the writer Jack Kerouac. This groundbreaking work revolutionized the aesthetics of the photo book. His other books include Black White and Things and The Lines of My Hand. His most important films include Pull My Daisy and Cocksucker Blues. Frank's work has been exhibited worldwide, most recently at theTate Modern, London and the Museum der Moderne, Salzburg.
