Role of the CSC in managing collective redundancies

Outsourcing and relocation of production, company closures and job cuts, reorganization, liquidation, restructuring, and social plans are all ways of describing the phenomenon of restructuring. This is not a new issue for companies, as it has been around for decades. With globalization and the economic and financial crisis, it has simply taken on new forms and is now at the center of global news. It must be emphasized that workers, and even more so trade unions, are struggling to cope with this phenomenon, which is leading to collective redundancies and even job losses. The primary objective of this work is to describe the feelings and role of trade unions in the face of this unavoidable phenomenon, which is at the heart of national and European debates. The question here is how unions are positioning themselves to preserve social gains while ensuring the best possible conditions for employees who are laid off.
