Rorschachiana is the official publication of the International Society for the Rorschach and Projective Methods, now with more than3,000 members throughout the world. For over half a century this society has played an important role in supporting the use of theRorschach instrument and develop extensive empirical research on its effectiveness in specific clinical situations. Psychologistsworldwide understand the historical importance and real-world application of Rorschach tests in psychotherapy and psychoanalyticapproaches within therapy, but are less aware of the extending influence Rorschach is capable of, particularly in strengtheningdiagnostic accuracy and reshaping diagnostic and assessment criteria. Throughout the book, the value of Rorschach tests over alternative methods is illustrated in examples and helps alleviate and simplify known diagnostic issues in the psychological space. A path for an improved diagnostic system is offered and directions are identified for research on the diagnostic utility of the Rorschach for assessing personality disorders. The underlying dynamic composition of personality functioning captured by the Rorschach tests help readers and clinicians expand upon and refine models of psychopathology as well as spark discussion, research, and application, both highlighting and preserving Rorschach's relevance as we progress through the evolving field of clinical diagnostic assessment.
