This book addresses the sanitary quality and agricultural reuse of wastewater treated using low-cost sustainable systems. The book presents the development and monitoring of an ecological system consisting of a septic tank, solar reactor and infiltration trench, evaluating its efficiency in removing pathogenic microorganisms, especially Escherichia coli and total coliforms. The research shows that solar disinfection associated with ultraviolet radiation and increased temperature was efficient in improving the microbiological quality of the effluent, highlighting the potential for agricultural reuse in semi-arid regions. In addition, the study uses Singular Spectral Analysis (SSA) to predict the microbiological behavior of the system over time, contributing to environmental monitoring and the sustainable management of water resources.
